Aglance at the list of Derby entries tells the story. From 130 entries still left in the race in mid May no fewer than 31 were by the all-conquering stallion Galileo.
Another 33 entries were sired by sons of Galileo including Nathanial, Teofilio, New Approach and, most notably, Frankel.
No wonder their father is rightly lauded as the stallion of stallions in the bloodstock world.
