Haydock 1.25 – Buick looks perfect Dance partner for Teal’s star

The booking of William Buick looks a signal of intent from connections of DANCING GEMINI as he drops back to Listed company for what looks like a confidence booster.

He has been found out at the top table so far this season but a staying on 4th in the Lockinge showed he still retains enough ability to be winning this.

Connections could probably find excuses for the last two runs so I do think he is better judged on that Newbury run and if he bounces back to that form then he looks a massive price at 3/1 here. 

Haydock 3.05 – Scholfield set to showcase his skills again on Saturday

A competitive staying handicap here where not many would appear that well handicapped.

One horse who catches my eye is GLEN TO GLEN who could be well handicapped off 80 but it is a bit of a shot in the dark putting him up in such a race.

Nick Scholfield couldn’t have wished for a better start to his training career and he recently showcased his range of training talents by getting a 2 year old by Too Darn Hot placed in a valuable race at York.

The selection showed his well being by winning on stable debut up at Perth over fences and if in similar form here, he would surely have a squeak off his current mark. 

Haydock 4.15 – Appleby improver ready to excel this Autumn

ARKLOW LAD looked another shrewd purchase from the Horsewatchers and Mick Appleby as he landed a high class handicap at Epsom earlier this Summer.

An incredibly dry Summer has forced connections to take their time with him since but it looks as if a recent blow out in August will set him up nicely for a profitable Autumn now that the ground has changed.

This looks an ideal opportunity to get back on the winning trail and suggested odds of 13/2 look more than fair. 

Ascot 5.10 – Split stakes on improving sprinters at Ascot 

I’ve got GOLD STAR HERO and MANATEE MEHMAS on my back next time out list and I can’t choose between them here.

The former has improved massively this year as a four year old and looks a real speed ball.

He was a shade unlucky last time out at York having been drawn on the wrong side but he still stuck to his task and finished 5th which proved his well being and ability.

The latter was again placed at York, shaping as if a stiffer 5f test would be right up his street. He gets that here and I can see him arriving late on the scene to potentially land this column a 1-2.
