Trainer Tim Easterby has announced that Wells Farhh Go will not be running in the Derby at Epsom a week on Saturday.
Instead the colt will be sent straight to Royal Ascot and could run in either the Queen’s Vase over a mile and three-quarters or the mile-and-a-half King Edward VII Stakes.
Plans have changed for the horse after the Dante at York last week where he could only finish sixth, although Easterby is keen to run him in the St Leger at Doncaster in September
“He’s in great form and has come out of it (the Dante) well,” he said. “He ran a good race in the Dante – there wasn’t a bad horse in the field.
“That was his first run (of the season) so you’d hope he’ll come on for it.
“We won’t be going for the Derby. It will be Ascot. There are the two races there for him. I think he’s a Leger horse.”
