Connections feel Liquid Amber can “give a good account of herself” on Sunday in the QIPCO 1000 Guineas at Newmarket.
The Willie McCreery-trained three-year-old is set for her first start of the year and as such is somewhat of an unknown quantity going into the Newmarket race.
Alan Cooper, racing manager for Flaxman Stables, reports Liquid Amber to be in good shape and he is confident she will be a contender on Sunday.
“She only ran twice last year and this will be her first start of 2018 so from that point of view I suppose you could say she’s under the radar,” he said, as reported by Sky Sports.
“She broke her maiden in a Group Three, she’s wintered well and has been pleasing Willie.
“The thought at the moment is to run her on Sunday and hopefully she can give a good account of herself and we can map out a programme from there.
“Willie has a very nice filly in Mary Tudor who is going for the Irish Guineas so he has a pretty good idea where he stands in that division.”
