Skiffle set for showdown at the Curragh

Trainer Charlie Appleby has confirmed Skiffle will contest the Group Three Snow Fairy Fillies Stakes at the Curragh on Sunday.

Skiffle was last seen when finishing fifth in the Epsom Oaks and will drop down in both trip and class for the Curragh race this weekend.

Appleby says the nine furlong Snow Fairy will be the three-year-old daughter of Dubawi’s last outing of the season, and he is confident she can sign off with a win.

“She’s going to go to Ireland for the Snow Fairy,” the trainer told reporters. “I was going to take her to Deauville [Prix de la Nonette] but I didn’t fancy taking on the French Guineas and Oaks winner [La Cressonniere].

“I’d love her to get her head back in front and then I’d like to put her away for next season.”
