Simon Sadler, owner of TBT Racing, has announced his support for Racing Welfare by funding the full salary of a Lambourn-based Welfare Officer for a 12-month period, from April 2026 to April 2027.

Simon Sadler, owner of TBT Racing, has announced his support for Racing Welfare by funding the full salary of a Lambourn-based Welfare Officer for a 12-month period, from April 2026 to April 2027.

Widely recognised as the “Valley of the Racehorse “and home to a large concentration of trainers, stable staff and industry workers, Lambourn has a consistent demand for welfare support.

This initiative will provide direct support to those working within the Lambourn area, where the Welfare Officer will provide confidential, one-to-one guidance and practical assistance to those working across the local racing community.

Sadler said: “Racing has given me an enormous amount over my life, and I feel a strong responsibility to give back to those who make the sport possible.”

He continued: “Welfare officers help those working across racing, particularly at difficult moments, and I am proud to be able to support their vital work with Racing Welfare.

“As TBT Racing continues to grow, it is important to us that we provide meaningful, practical support to all those who may need it in our community.”

Dawn Goodfellow, chief executive of Racing Welfare, said: “Lambourn is a vital hub of British racing, and demand for our services here remains high.

“This funding allows us to continue delivering essential, frontline support to the workforce at the heart of the sport.

“We are extremely grateful to Simon Sadler and TBT Racing for enabling us to strengthen our presence in such an important racing community.”

Ed Walker, trainer at TBT Racing, added: “Having spent many years in the sport, I have seen first-hand how important organisations like Racing Welfare are in providing practical help when it’s most needed.

“Simon’s commitment is a meaningful contribution, and it reflects the values we all try to uphold at TBT Racing, recognising that success on the course must go hand in hand with responsibility to the wider racing community.”
