Angus Gold hopes that Zawraq could still return to the track this season, despite struggling with injury.
The unbeaten three-year-old was forced to miss out on the Derby at Epsom earlier this month after suffering a crack in his off-fore cannon bone.
Zawraq picked up the knock in the build-up to the mile-and-a-half contest and has since been recuperating from the setback.
However, connections believe that Zawraq could still defy the odds and recover in time to return to action before the end of the current campaign.
Angus Gold, racing manager to owner Hamdan Al Maktoum, said: “Zawraq has had two screws put in his leg and is now back at the stud where he will be for the next two months.
“We may run him at the back end of the season if all goes to plan. Hopefully he will still be around for next season.”
