The six-year-old impressed on debut for the yard last time out with a 22-length win at and his camp are now starting to get excited about his chances of a strong result when he runs at Cheltenham in two months' time.

His next outing will come a week on Saturday when he lines up in the Grade 2 Neptune Investment Management Novices' Hurdle at the Gloucestershire course.

Skelton says he will use the two-mile-four-and-a-half furlong event to decide whether his charge will start in the Neptune or the slightly longer Albert Bartlett at the Festival.

“Value At Risk's preparation has gone very smoothly and, since Newbury, it has always been the plan to take him to Cheltenham next Saturday,” the Warwickshire trainer is quoted as saying by the Post.

“The weather is looking very wet but we are really looking forward to running him.

“I thought he would win at Newbury but I did not expect him to do it as impressively as he did. We had left a lot to work on because we have got next year in the back our minds. He will have an entry in both the Neptune and Albert Bartlett at the festival, but he is very much a horse for the future.”
