Way back in the late 1970s and beyond it was a rarity to find a horse whose name you had trouble pronouncing with just the occasional French name to spice things up, although Petite Etoile and Allez France were hardly a challenge for any strictly English tongue.
The Arab invasion was in its first stages of infancy and what few horses there were owned by the likes of Sheikh Ali Abu Khamsin still had easily recognisable names such as Half Free and Fifty Dollars More.
