Spreadex Sports announced last week the expansion of its long-standing partnership with UK and Scottish horse racing, increasing its Starting Stalls sponsorship from 20 to 22 racecourses for the 2026 summer flat season.
The expanded deal – which takes effect immediately – brings Spreadex Sports branding to Starting Stalls at 17 venues across England, two courses in Wales and three in Scotland, cementing the brand’s position as one of the most visible commercial partners in British racing at a time of uncertainty over betting industry funding for the sport.
The announcement comes as several of the UK’s largest bookmakers have announced the end of long-standing racing partnerships in recent months, citing rising operating costs.
Spreadex Sports’ decision to expand its presence runs deliberately counter to that trend, reflecting the central role horse racing plays in its betting product.
Andy MacKenzie, head of marketing at Spreadex Ltd, said: “Horse racing sits at the very heart of what Spreadex Sports does, and expanding our Starting Stalls partnership to 22 courses for the 2026 flat season is a reflection of how much we value the sport and the relationships we have built with racecourses across the country.
“Our sportsbook and spread betting clients are among the most passionate and knowledgeable racing fans in the UK, and we are proud to continue growing our presence across British racing alongside so many fantastic venues.”

“Their backing is greatly appreciated, and we look forward to continuing to work closely with the team to deliver a successful season of racing at both Jockey Club Racecourses.”

Long lasting relationships

Connor Robson, partnership manager at Newbury Racecourse, said: “We are delighted to continue our partnership with Spreadex as a valued supporter of flat racing at Newbury.
“Now in our second year working together, we have developed a strong and collaborative relationship, and their commitment to the sport is one we greatly appreciate.
“Partnerships such as this play an important role in helping us deliver a high-quality raceday experience for our customers, and we look forward to building on this success together throughout the season.”
A commitment to racing at a critical moment
British horse racing generates over £8 billion in annual betting turnover and remains one of the UK’s most-watched and bet-upon sports.
However, the sport has faced increasing commercial headwinds as several large operators have scaled back sponsorship activity, citing the impact of the Remote Gaming Duty increase and changing marketing priorities.
Starting Stalls sponsorship provides consistent, high-visibility branding at the most-watched moment of every race – at the point of maximum viewer attention, both in the stands and on television.
Spreadex Sports’ presence across 22 courses ensures national exposure throughout the summer flat season, from key fixtures at Newbury and Doncaster to beloved regional meetings at Ayr, Musselburgh, Hamilton and Carlisle.
Spreadex Sports has offered spread betting on horse racing since its founding in 1999, including markets such as Race Indices, Winning Favourites, Distances and Match Bets – products that attract dedicated racing enthusiasts seeking an alternative and nuanced way to engage with the sport than traditional fixed-odds betting.
