It was a pleasant surprise that Exeter had survived the ‘weather bomb’ that had engulfed large swathes of the UK overnight, some compensation for the course having to abandon their lucrative New Year’s Day meeting.
I arrived at the racecourse a couple or so hours before the first and took advantage of nipping in to an overlooked end-of-the-row parking space. When
I say nipped in, I had to drive forward then reverse, as I hit reverse a blonde lady in a car with a jockey parking badge...
