FIFTY years on the Stable lads failed strike coincided with inflation of 24per cent. If it proved anything it was that breadlines don’t make strong picket lines. Has much changed in the racing industry? Not much according to an extensive article in the Sunday Times with the rather laboured headline: “Racing must not ignore the tragedies afflicting vulnerable stable staff”.
