Xander Brett meets Austrian trainer who carved a career in Germany

For many years, Gerald Geisler was something of a nomad. He grew up a racing fan, but hails from a country where the sport is now dormant.
Three moves later, however, the 47-year-old has become a firm fixture of the Iffezheim training ranks: an essential component in the daily routine of Germany’s answer to Newmarket, Deauville and Chantilly.
