Belgium has sent out Christophe Soumillon and Kevin Philippart de Foy. The Netherlands has given us Adrie de Vries, a jockey with a string of Group 1-winning rides to his name.
The 55-year-old, perhaps most famous for his exploits in Germany and the Middle East, began his career in Holland, where his father rode and considered making it as an apprentice.
