Xander Brett meets Jack Jones, new owner of Chestnut Tree Stables

Jack Jones, 29, is a young trainer with bold ambitions. He has been renting boxes since starting training in 2022 but, ready to push on, he has now bought Chestnut Tree Stables in Newmarket’s Hamilton Road.
Low sunshine bathed the Heath in a bright start to my visit and Jones bundled into his car, off to watch 5yo An Bradan Feasa school in preparation for a first run over fences.
Jones grew up near Ross-on-Wye, 20-odd miles from the cradle of jump racing. It was a childhood chock-full of ponies and horses.
