Ben`s Tips of the Day

Ben Morgan

Tardy starts were my downfall yesterday at Chester which just goes to prove a good break is just as important as a good draw on the Roodee. I’m hoping the breaks fall my way today as both my tips have handy draws and first up is BUXTED TOO. Ian Williams had a few runners here yesterday and all performed admirably so it looks like he has his string in good form. Looking back at this lad’s form, it is pretty solid and he certainly looks well handicapped off a mark of 79. He was fortunate to finish 2nd last time out but would have been miles clear of fourth had Ryan Moore been able to stay in the saddle on Rifleman. That form looks strong and Wiliam Buick’s presence in the saddle here is a sign of confidence from connections.

I’m hoping BARYSHNIKOV can produce all the right moves at the scene of his most impressive success. David Barron’s charge powered away in good style here last summer before following up at Ayr and he lines up here only 3lb higher and that 3lb certainly wouldn’t have stopped him last summer. His recent reappearance would have blown away the cobwebs as he seemed to tire late on after making good progress up the straight. A handy, low draw will be useful today and I think he can go very close at around 9/1.

Chester 2.45 – Buxted Too

Chester 3.45 – Baryshnikov
