The remarkable journey of Imperial Emperor, the racehorse flying the flag for Worcester-based syndicate Deva Racing, has taken a dramatic new turn following a landmark victory in Dubai.
With a commanding win in the Group 2 Al Maktoum Classic at Meydan Racecourse, Imperial Emperor not only secured a £220,000 prize but also earned an invitation to the prestigious $12 million Dubai World Cup, set to take place on 5 April 2025.
The Dubai World Cup, held at Meydan, is one of the world’s richest and most renowned horse racing events, boasting a total prize fund of $30.5 million.
Imperial Emperor will line up in the $12 million Group 1 feature race, where $7 million goes to the winner, against elite competition from across the globe, including the UAE, Japan, and the United States.
“Imperial Emperor has now earned over £450,000 for his syndicate of 14 owners,” said Ryan Tongue, Managing Director of Deva Racing.
“I bought him for just over £60,000, so we’re all in dreamland. To receive an invitation to one of the world’s most sought-after races is simply incredible.”
